Who the Hell is this Kid?:
My name is James. I’m a nineteen year old transgender male from Upstate, New York. I’m a college student with an Associates degree and I am currently working on my Bachelors in Elementary Education at Johnson State College in Upstate, Vermont (or at least I will be starting Fall 2012). I absolutely love working with children and have two great jobs doing so. I’ve been working at Jiminy Peak since 2007 as a children’s ski instructor (and this past season as a Team Leader in the Kids Rule! program (2011-2012)) as well as Zero Gravity Laser Tag as an arena monitor and party host since September, 2010. Working with children amazes me on a daily basis and I look forward to spending the rest of my life doing just that.

However, I do have many more dreams and hopes and interests and I hope to continue on with school to complete them. I’d love to get my bachelors in Creative Writing and I’d love to get a degree in Film Making. One of my lifetime goals is to write a best selling novel and god damn me if I don’t do it. I believe it’s good to dream big and chase those dreams regardless of what people say and who gets in your way.

Unfortunately for you, all of this may sound good but I’m madly in love with my girlfriend. I’ve been with her since August 8th, 2010 and I plan on spending the rest of my life with her. You can find her tumblr here.

Other little tidbits - I’m a short dude standing at 5’ 1” or so tall. I love to cook, write poetry, start novels that never get finished ski, snowboard, and try to play guitar and other musical instruments. I was in band from 4th grade-12th grade and I loved it. I played trumpet and euphonium. I also mess around with bass guitar and regular guitar. Music is amazing. I love tattoos and have two currently. I cannot wait to get more. I’m a pretty chill dude, I have a lot of interests. I’m a fantastic listener and if you need someone to talk to, I’m all ears. 

My story is still being written, however I now know that regardless of whatever happens in this life, it’s worth the struggle, the tears, the blood, the fear, the angst, the anger, the mishaps, the forgetting, the losing, the gaining, the living… it’s all worth it. You just need to brush off the rubble and get up every morning with a fresh outlook on life. Carpe Diem - Seize the day for you only get to experience once & then it’s gone. You cannot get it back.
