Also, I am confused about why this t-bro is a keynote speaker. What I can tell from his blogs is basically that his

• he’s a musician with a lot of gigs for his age
• he’s pretty if you’re into white-boy dreads and seems aware of this
• he’s been on TV
• his folks paid for his top surgery
• he’s not on T

all of which —> KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT PHILLY TRANS HEALTH?

I get why someone under 21 is an appropriate speaker for youth/teens, but I can see no reason, even without his being a stupid white boy who spews racist/anti-tsiganist nonsense and the rest, why he should be that person under 21.

I mean, this is a pretty weaksauce activist history, his other accomplishments notwithstanding, and while I guess a lot of young transitioners are going to have this kind of easy access to medical tech, I’m a little disturbed by how that suddenly makes them role models apart from any other kind of concrete engagement (especially when even fairly privileged  folks with a high degree of acceptance from their folks aren’t realistically going to be able to expect their family to pick up their surgery bills, to say nothing of the vast majority of the trans community who are neither privileged nor accepted).

But that’s beside the point, this fellow’s opinions suck, and whatever the reasons for his being originally chosen, they are now invalid

Reasons I dislike him. The only “black privilege” there is is a go to jail free card for any little thing because racism is so very alive in the united states and in the world.
